Con la gran nevada que cubre Europa, volar por el viejo continente se convierte casi en misión imposible. ¡Así que hay que buscar el lado positivo! Mirar tiendas, leer un buen libro, observar a la gente de distintos países y, en muchos casos, admirar magníficos edificios.
A veces, los retrasos en los aeropuertos pueden convertirse en una oportunidad estupenda para disfrutar de edificios espectaculares. Ultimamente estoy obsesionada con los aeropuertos. Parece que las ciudades compiten por impresionar al turista desde la misma puerta de entrada y en los últimos años se pueden encontrar maravillas arquitectónicas que hacen el deleite de los apasionados por la arquitectura.
Uno de mis aeropuertos preferidos es el aeropuerto internacional Kuala Lumpur (KLIA) diseñado por el arquitecto japonés Kisho Kurokawa.
Es uno de los aeropuertos más importantes de Asia y lo primero que llama la atención cuando uno aterriza allí son los fantásticos jardines tropicales en torno a los cuales se mueven los turistas en busca de su puerta de embarque.
Kisho Kurokawa se inspiró en la cultura islámica para diseñar las bóvedas que forman el techo y que recuerdan a jaimas, lo que contrasta con el aire funcional, moderno y cómodo de todo el edificio.

Sometimes, a delay can become a great opportunity to study spectacular buildings. Lately I am really fond of airports. Cities seem to compete trying to impress the tourist from the very entrance and now it is possible to find architectonic wonders which make architecture lovers' day!
One of my favorite airports is the Kuala Lumpur International Airport designed by the Japanese Kisho Kurokawa.
KLIA is one of the most important hubs in Asia and the first thing that catches your eye when you land there is the impressive tropical gardens in the building, surrounded by tourists looking for their gate.
Kisho Kurokawa was inspired by the Islamic culture to design the hiperbolic paraboloid shell which reminds of traditional tents contrasting with the functional, modern and high-tech building.
